A 23 year old man hailing from Mukungugu Village in Chuka, Tharaka Nithi County, was sentenced for one year jail term by a Chuka law court yesterday for engaging in unnatural sex with a neighbor’s ewe.

Nicholas Karani was handed the jail term after pleading guilty before Chuka Law court magistrate Hon. Mwanamkuu Sudi.

According to the sheep’s owner Mutegi Mugo, he intercepted Karani in the nearby tea farm in the course of the bestial act, during a spirited search of his sheep after he realized that it had gone missing from the rest of the herd.

The court was informed that a used condom was recovered at the scene of crime, implying that the accused had use the contraceptive during the anomalous swive.

Residents further said the accused was notorious for such acts with the animals. In his defense he told the court that he was an addict of canal knowledge with domestic animals.

Quizzed over his unbecoming behavior after the seizure on Sunday,he admitted to having lost interest in women, admitting he lastly copulated five years ago.

Article 162 of the Penal Code Act Cap 63 of the laws of Kenya, stipulates that, “Any Person who has carnal knowledge of an animal, is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for fourteen years.”
